Recognise the route behind the screen
Česká televize publishes separate guidance for iVysílání, smart-TV applications and HbbTV. Its official instructions identify the television's app store as an installation route. Treat iVysílání as an independent public-broadcaster example, not as evidence that a separate subscription includes the same programmes, archive or accessibility features.
Record the platform, not just the brand
Open the TV settings and note its model and operating system. Then record whether you launched a downloaded application or a broadcaster feature. When a tutorial mentions an app store that your television does not have, stop and find instructions for the actual platform rather than trying unrelated installation files.
Ask for the right kind of Czech text
Česká televize distinguishes subtitles from audio description and explains caption controls for different screens. Apply that distinction to your trial: translated Czech dialogue, captions for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers, and spoken descriptions solve different needs. An interface labelled in Czech does not establish that all three are present.
Use a known programme to compare
Test one item where you expect text, then another with a different source. Inspect Czech accents, timing and readability from the sofa. If the problem affects only one title, report that title; if every title fails, investigate the player settings and supported formats before changing the account.
Keep the programme guide separate from playback
A guide entry and a playable programme are separate things. Check whether the guide's current time agrees with the device clock, and compare a live stream with an on-demand item. Do not replace a working playlist merely because a schedule looks empty or an archive entry cannot be opened.
Bring evidence to support
Send the player version, device model, title or channel and exact point of failure. Confirm required content and connection count before selecting a subscription period. Any app licence should have its own receipt so that a player activation problem can be directed to the correct provider.
Your practical checklist
- Identify native app, HbbTV or separate player.
- Record the exact TV operating system.
- Test Czech captions and their timing.
- Distinguish guide errors from playback errors.
What to record
Keep your device model, app version, viewing location and the exact programme or error with your notes. Share account details only through a private support route.

One question to settle
Is the red-button television menu the same as an IPTV player?
No. Identify the feature and its provider before following instructions; a broadcaster's HbbTV route and a separate player can have different requirements.
