Keep broadcaster identities clear

VRT MAX and RTBF Auvio are useful official reference points for exploring different Belgian media environments. They operate their own services and accounts. RTBF’s help centre explains Auvio’s account-based access, while VRT MAX presents both viewing and listening options. Investigate these directly rather than assuming one login opens everything.

Make a bilingual favourites plan

Write a short list with the original programme names and preferred language tracks. Avoid translating channel names so freely that support cannot identify them. A compact Dutch-and-French list is often more useful than asking for every Belgian channel.

Match the setup to different viewers

Test whether everyone can navigate the chosen player without changing the television’s entire system language. Try searching an accented title, selecting subtitles and returning to favourites. If a family member relies on captions, check a real programme rather than merely confirming that a settings menu exists.

Separate child profiles from channel groups

A folder labelled for children does not necessarily prevent access to other content. If parental controls matter, verify their behaviour with the remote and keep the PIN private. Use the app developer’s instructions for the exact edition installed.

Check access and network behaviour separately

A regional-availability message and a buffering problem are different faults. For the first, consult the provider’s account and location guidance; for the second, compare playback on the same device with another ordinary service. Do not change store regions or network routing merely because a programme is unavailable.

Prepare a useful request

Tell support your device model, preferred languages, required simultaneous streams and the specific programme you tested. Official broadcaster references are independent examples, not evidence of inclusion, endorsement or affiliation with the subscription options on this website.

Your practical checklist

  • List Dutch, French and other language needs separately.
  • Keep official broadcaster account details distinct.
  • Test captions and parental controls on the real device.
  • Describe availability messages separately from buffering.

What to record

Keep your device model, app version, viewing location and the exact programme or error with your notes. Share account details only through a private support route.

One question to settle

Should I choose Dutch or French for the whole household?

Choose the website language that makes ordering easiest, then specify all viewing languages separately. A multilingual household can need several programme tracks even when everyone uses the same interface.
